1. Scope
This policy applies to the WiseInbox desktop application and the public WiseInbox website. “We,” “us,” and “WiseInbox” refer to the publisher of the WiseInbox application. Your email provider and local model provider have their own terms and privacy practices.
2. Information the desktop app accesses
When you connect an email account, WiseInbox may access and store locally:
- Your email address, display name, provider, and account configuration.
- Message headers, bodies, attachments, labels or folders, and thread relationships.
- Messages and drafts you create, send, move, mark, or delete through the app.
- Local results such as classifications, summaries, answers, drafts, search indexes, embeddings, and preferences.
- OAuth access and refresh tokens or other account credentials needed to connect to your provider.
3. How Google user data is used
WiseInbox requests the Google mail scope so it can operate as the email client you asked it to be. Google user data is used only to provide and improve visible, user-facing mail features: syncing and displaying mail; organizing, searching, and summarizing messages; answering your mailbox questions; preparing drafts; and sending, moving, marking, or deleting messages when you direct the app to do so.
WiseInbox’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
4. Where information is stored and processed
Mail content, attachments, indexes, settings, and locally generated intelligence are stored on your Mac. OAuth tokens and account credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. WiseInbox does not operate a cloud mailbox or upload your mailbox to a WiseInbox AI service. AI features run through Ollama on your device.
Data travels to your chosen email provider as needed to authenticate, sync, send, and apply actions. Google receives OAuth and Gmail protocol requests when you connect or use a Google account.
5. Sharing and human access
We do not sell Google user data or other personal information. We do not use it for advertising, retargeting, personalized ads, lending, or credit decisions. We do not transfer it to data brokers or information resellers. Because mailbox processing is local, WiseInbox personnel do not receive or review your mail through a WiseInbox server.
Information may be disclosed only when you affirmatively direct or consent to a transfer, when necessary to protect security, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer after any consent required by applicable policy or law.
6. Remote images and external links
Remote images are not required for mail intelligence. If you allow remote images for a sender, WiseInbox may retrieve those image files over HTTPS. The image host can observe ordinary connection information such as your IP address. WiseInbox does not attach your email credentials or maintain an HTTP cookie store for those image requests. Links you open are handled by your browser and the destination’s privacy policy applies.
7. Retention, removal, and deletion
Information remains on your device until you remove it. Removing an account from WiseInbox stops synchronization and deletes its stored credential from Keychain. Already synced messages remain locally as a detached archive so account removal does not unexpectedly destroy mail. You can delete mail in the app and use its empty or erase controls, or remove WiseInbox’s local data from your Mac. Provider-side copies remain governed by actions you take and your provider’s retention rules.
You can revoke WiseInbox’s Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions. Revocation prevents future access but does not itself erase local copies already stored on your Mac.
8. Security
WiseInbox uses OAuth authorization-code flow with PKCE, per-attempt state, encrypted transport to supported providers, macOS Keychain for credentials, and local application storage. No system can guarantee absolute security; keep macOS updated and protect access to your user account and device.
9. This website
This static website does not provide account sign-in, set advertising or analytics cookies, or collect mailbox content. Its hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes ordinary web request information such as IP address, browser information, requested page, and time of request to deliver and protect the site under Cloudflare’s own privacy practices.
10. Children
WiseInbox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through this website.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as WiseInbox changes. We will revise the effective date and provide any additional notice required for material changes. For privacy or support questions, email vhimeshdahal@gmail.com.
